Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the model between sexual function based on differentiation with the mediation of marital intimacy in women seeking divorce in Shahd city, which was selected using the structural equation modeling (SEM) correlation method with the sampling method suggested by Stevens, considering 15 for each variable, and 245 people were selected as a sample. To reduce the standard error, 280 questionnaires were selected among couples seeking divorce in Mashhad, and the intimacy needs questionnaires of Bagarozzi (2013), women's sexual function by Rosen et al. (1997), and self-differentiation by Skowron and Friedlander (1998) were completed. After collecting the data, it was analyzed with the help of SPSS and Amos software, and the bootstrap method was used to analyze the mediation relationships in Amos software. The results showed that according to the results of the correlation matrix. There was a positive and significant relationship between differentiation and marital intimacy and sexual performance of women seeking divorce (P<0.001). There was also a significant positive and negative relationship between marital intimacy and sexual performance, respectively (P<0.001). The results of the correlation test also showed that there was no significant relationship between demographic variables and the endogenous variable of sexual performance of women seeking divorce in Mashhad (P>0.05). Therefore, the confounding variable was not identified. According to the results of the present study, it can be concluded that differentiation and marital intimacy play an important role in the sexual performance of couples and by improving it, it can help reduce the number of divorces among couples. Likewise, in divorce counseling centers, the evaluation of variables such as differentiation and marital intimacy should be considered as part of the initial evaluation process of couples.
