Comparison the Effectiveness of Pornography Addiction Recovery Training and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on Anxiety Sensitivity, Psychological Flexibility and Physical Appearance Perfectionism of Male Adolescents

Teenager's involvement in all kinds of addictions is one of the most important dangers that affects the whole life of a person and his family. Among the types of behavioral addictions, pornography with the onset of adolescence and puberty is one of the potential dangers lurking in teenagers, and today, due to access to the Internet, teenagers are willingly or unwillingly exposed to pornographic content. purpose of this research was to compare the effectiveness of pornography addiction recovery training and cognitive behavioral therapy on anxiety sensitivity, psychological flexibility and physical appearance perfectionism of male adolescents. research method was semi-experimental with three groups with a pre-test, post-test and follow-up design. The statistical population included all male teenagers suffering from pornography in esfahan in the spring and summer of 2024. sample consisted of 60 individual who met the inclusion criteria, and replaced in the treatment groups in a simple random method. In this research, anxiety sensitivity (Taylor and Cox, 1998), physical appearance perfectionism (Yang and Stoeber, 2012) and psychological flexibility scales (Akbari et al., 2021) were used. data was analyzed using repeated measurement analysis using SPSS software version 26. findings showed that both treatments reduced the anxiety sensitivity and perfectionism of physical appearance and increased the psychological flexibility of adolescent boys suffering from pornography addiction. There was a significant difference between the two treatments in the fear of heart symptoms and reaction in public and total anxiety sensitivity, total psychological flexibility. and Porn addiction recovery training has shown better results.
