Depression and anxiety constitute a wide range of emotional and emotional maladjustments, which, according to the Fifth Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, are among the most prevalent mental disorders, and specific labeling is a treatment that can help manage the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression. The aim of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of training in the specific labeling treatment model in managing the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression. The method of this study was a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population consisted of students of Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Ahvaz. Initially, 200 students were selected through convenience sampling and completed the Goldenberg et al. (1972) General Health Questionnaire. Then, 30 of them who had the highest scores in the two components of depression and anxiety were randomly assigned to two experimental groups of 15 and control groups of 15. Then, the sample individuals completed the Beck Anxiety Inventory (1988) and Beck Depression Inventory (1963) in the pre-test and, after holding training sessions, the post-test. After collecting the data, they were analyzed using the univariate analysis of covariance test. Results: The results showed that the training of the specific labeling treatment model was effective in managing the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression of the sample individuals in the experimental group and the post-test. Conclusion: Given that the specific labeling therapy method is effective in managing the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression, this method can be used to manage and improve the adaptation of people with depression and anxiety.
