The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy integrated with mindfulness on psychological distress and behavioral regulation of emotion in people with thalassemia. The research method of this study was semi-experimental (semi-experimental) and applied, which was conducted with a pre-test-post-test research design with a control group. All women with thalassemia were referred to Shahid Rajaee Hospital in Tonekabon in the first half of 1404. The sample of the present study was 30 people from the community who were selected using purposive sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (15 people) and control groups (15 people). The research tools included the Kessler Psychological Distress Questionnaire (2003) and the Kraij and Garnevsky Emotional Behavioral Regulation Questionnaire (2019). Multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and univariate analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were used to analyze the data and examine the research hypotheses. The results of the study showed that the difference between the intervention group and the control group in terms of the mean scores of psychological distress and behavioral emotion regulation variables was significant (P<0.001). In general, the results showed that cognitive behavioral therapy integrated with mindfulness reduced psychological distress, withdrawal and neglect, and increased social support in people with thalassemia.
