Identifying Psychological Dimensions of Depression in Homemaker Women: A Thematic Analysis
Keywords:

This study aimed to identify the psychological dimensions of depression in homemaker women through thematic analysis. Using Braun and Clarke’s framework, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 women experiencing mild to moderate depression. Thematic analysis revealed four major themes: emptiness of role, fragmentation of self-identity, emotional exclusion within the family, and emotional dysregulation. Findings suggest that depression in homemakers is deeply intertwined with identity crises and a lack of social recognition, beyond standard clinical symptoms. These results underline the importance of therapeutic strategies focused on identity reconstruction and role validation.
